About Ashley
Ashley Nicole Dawson is a professional singer and voice teacher based in Richmond, VA, with over a decade of experience helping singers of all ages and levels find their unique voice. She holds a master’s degree in Vocal Performance from Ball State University, where she earned a graduate scholarship, and a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University where she also earned a scholarrship. Ashley has performed a variety of roles on stage, including Norina in Don Pasquale and Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, and brings the same artistry and passion to her teaching that she brings to performance.
At Dawson Voice Studio, Ashley creates a supportive and creative space where students are encouraged to explore, take risks, and grow as artists. Her teaching emphasizes healthy, sustainable vocal technique, stylistic versatility across opera, musical theater, and pop, and singing in multiple languages including Italian, French, German, and Spanish. Students develop not only technical skill but also confidence, musical expression, and a strong connection to their voice.
Through personalized lessons, performance coaching, and encouragement every step of the way, Ashley helps each singer discover their potential, tackle challenging repertoire, and cultivate a voice that is truly their own.

Carmen brings a tech-savvy, user-focused approach to the studio’s systems and digital presence, backed by a Bachelor’s in Business (Management Information Systems) and specialized training in UX/UI. With over 30 years of experience as Marketing Manager and co-owner of Carmike Glass, she has a proven track record in SEO-driven web strategy and client engagement. From scheduling to communication, Carmen ensures everything runs smoothly—so students can focus on what matters most: finding their voice and loving the journey.
